My name is David. My wife’s name is Joni. We have two sons, Joshua, 18, and Luke, 14.
Josh is autistic. Aspergers is the clinical diagnosis. He also suffers from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety, and ADHD, and at times he exhibits physical, vocal, or complex tics. He was born knowing how to play the piano, and he has a superior IQ. In a battle of wits, he usually wins. Lucky for me, I can always pull rank!
Luke has Type 1 diabetes, and he also suffers from being 14. He is a proven-track-record ladies man. I help him with algebra; he teaches me how to talk to girls. I just wish he would stop calling me, stupid.
In 2002, I quit work to care for Josh.
Joni has to live with us.
This is our life.

What an interesting life you have! I’m sure never a dull moment.
God Bless you and your family. I enjoyed reading your Hello United States post, so satirically true
Take care,

Thank you for the best wishes, Anna, and the same to you and your family.

What an incredible about page and a great intro to your wonderful family
Thank you.
Hello David,
What a lovely blog! I was disappointed when I realized you just started this thing so I only had a few stories to read. You remind me a little bit of Dave Barry in your style of writing…I love it!
Congratulations on being Freshly Pressed! I can see why you were chosen, even with only 5 posts! I was cracking up while reading Hello America?
I am somewhat of a rookie blogger as well, just started this year…and I just started a new blog dedicated to Freshly Pressed bloggers. Specifically it is dedicated to the reactions of the blogger and the impact it has on them. I have heard all types of responses ranging from pure exhilaration, fear, skepticism and more.
I am curious about all areas impacted by being featured…and instead of asking a bunch of questions I’d rather read your words and only ask you one question: Did you want to be Freshly Pressed or did you want to avoid it?
I look forward to reading more posts from you! If you would like to check out the blog it is http://thefreshlypressed.wordpress.com
I am not with WordPress….just a fellow blogger with a curiosity :
Cheers!
Hello Zach,
Thank you for your comments.
I’ve never given any thought to being “Freshly Pressed.” I just write what I like. That I could make so many people laugh and enjoy a little piece of their day is a nice thing to know. Hopefully, I can provide more of it.
I think you have an excellent idea for a blog. Good luck with it!
David
[...] 5 posts!! The best part? It is well deserved! Life Penned is a brilliantly written blog by David, it is obvious why Joy selected his post to be featured. I wonder if David read Joy’s post [...]
Love the intro. Love the posts. Can’t wait to read more! I shared your blog on my twitter and blog. Thank you for sharing your stories.
Hey David, thanks for the bday wishes. The $20 is in the mail.. hope it doesn’t get lost
I’ll be checking up on your blog often. I’ve enjoyed reading through your posts!
Thank you for sharing your episodes and your witty outlook on life! May you always be blessed!
